This is a post for both parents and students. For parents who think that sending their kids to the right school will do anything for them and that it will prepare them for life. For students who actually believe their parents. At one time schools taught subjects that were relevant to life and that gave students an edge. Skills such as logic, rhetoric, and writing will benefit anyone in all facets of their life. However this all began to change sometime ago.
Schools went from being places of learning to places that taught students to be reliant on others and indoctrinated pawns of the state. Free thinking and independence was replaced by indoctrination and group think. An even greater lie was that college provides you with a good living and has a good ROI, when the opposite is true. And I’m not just talking about women’s studies majors but majors across all fields even many STEM majors.
The Harsh Reality
Many students will graduate with their bachelors or masters then be shocked when they still end up working for a wage barely enough to pay off their debt most likely for a job they hate. What’s the reason for this? The reason for this was because of taking the time to study the marketplace and how money works, they instead believed their parents and the state that “education” is a good thing and will provide them with a higher quality of life.
However reality had a different tune to sing. The truth is I (and the majority of students) would be better off dropping out of high school and learning a trade, sales, marketing, and copywriting. And by the time our peers graduated high school off to minimum wage jobs or increasing their debt in college we’d be rolling in money. School is frankly for the most part a complete and total waste of time.
What’s The Solution
Even when schools provided students with a quality education, there was and is a better way. That is the way of self-education. Books and experience. Though the utility of experience can be limited it still is a great teacher. Books have provided me with more knowledge and real education than any class or course ever did. Looking back if I would have spent my money on books on sales, marketing, and copywriting instead of a college education I would be light years ahead of where I am now.
Time is your most valuable resources, making school one of the biggest wastes of your life. Unfortunately there is not much you can do about it at first, other than make sure to supplement it with a real education. School does nothing to prepare you for how the real world works nor how the market works. And to make it in this world you are going to have to understand both really well. I may sound harsh but I only do so to make sure you understand that situation.
What To Do?
First and foremost if you are a parent let your child know that school is going to do little for their advancement in life. That if they really want to get anywhere then it will come through self study and books. Their teachers aren’t going to help them much and college is more a path to being dumbed down and in debt than it is to a higher standard of living. Teach them the value of entrepreneurship and teach them sales. Logic, writing, and rhetoric sure wouldn’t hurt either. The education system cannot be relied on to raise your children.
If you are a student realize that you are not getting an education in life and that to get one you have to go out and get it yourself. Your teachers know less than you give them credit for. Read books about sales, markting, and copywriting. Learn how to read, write, and think. Understand how the world really works not what your teachers and textbooks tell you. Unplug from the matrix or you will always be a slave to it. Take the red pill of life. At first it will be painful but it leads to freedom.
Summary
The sooner you start the better off you will be. You cannot rely on the media, education system, society, or even your family to lead you in the right direction. They will all mislead you some intentionally some because they’ve never been told anything different. You must take it upon yourself if you want to be successful in life. It’s all on you, it’s always been all on you. Take charge of your life and your destiny, that is the only way to be assured of everything. No one will tell you this, but I am.
